HE EMBLEM WAS CREATED TO BE WORN.
It originated as a way for BDSMers to discreetly wink or
salute at all the unknown others we may pass in the
hallways and walkways of daily life. For the full story,
check out the history pages.
In brief, though, the Emblem was originally to be a pin.
But it first saw life as both a pin and a pendant. Here
are all the products currently being offered by the Emblem
Project. |

Sterling
Silver
Pendants The pendants are the same size as the pewter medallions (aprox. 7/8" diameter and about as thick as a penny) but made of pure sterling silver. Inner fields are darkened using a combination of rough texture and antiquing. Unlike the pewter pendants, these do not come with a chain. Sterling silver chains are sometimes available. Check with me before ordering to see if they are currently available.

Sterling Silver
and 14K Gold Charms, Earrings, Lapel Pins and
Tie Tacks Enquire before ordering gold items. The charms are 14mm in diameter — a sliver over 1/2 inch. They're also a tad deeper than the pendants at about 2mm thick, or about as thick as two dimes. Be aware that the jump rings on these are not soldered shut. This is so that you can easily add them to a charm bracelet or anklet. You might then want to have a local jeweler seal the ring to keep your charm secure. These same medallions are also available in pairs as dangle earrings, on wires like the one shown on the gold charm here. The 14K gold earrings come on 14K gold wires and the sterling earrings on sterling wires. Surgical steel wires are available if you need them. Make sure to make a note on your order form or type it into the Comments section of the online order form. The stud earrings and the tie tack use the slightly smaller medallions shown on the bottom. They are 11mm in diameter and a trifle thinner — about as thick as a quarter. For those of you who have a pierced ear on only the port or starboard side, earrings are available singly for half the price of a pair. I'm not putting a line on the online order form for single earrings, though, so if you want only one, just write it into the "Comments" area. Not pictured are the sterling silver Lapel Pins, featuring the same medallions used in the charms but without the loops. These can also be used as larger tie tacks if you like, although the posts are just slightly shorter than those on the regular tie tacks.

Pewter
Necklace
and Pin Both medallions are 7/8 of an inch in diameter and a hair thicker than a penny. The necklace comes on a 24-inch 2mm steel curb link chain. The pin features a military clutch back. Unless you specify otherwise, the necklace comes on a
24" 2mm steel curb link chain. If you who want something
just a little heavier and of even more durable finish,
it's available with a 3mm steel curb link chain for
$2.25 more. I also still think these pendants look great
on a simple black leather lace tied around the neck. You
can get one this way at no extra charge. If you want
either the premium chain or the leather lace, check the
appropriate box on the online email form or indicate
what you want on the mail-in order form.

Key
Tag IT'S BACK! And without a price increase, even after all this time! This key tag features a 2-sided pewter-finished medallion, larger (1-3/8" diameter) and heavier than the standard medallions and with a slightly "rough" look. It's attached to a split keyring by four links of heavy chain. The construction of these keytags is so strong that the manufacturer guarantees them for life. If yours ever breaks, anytime, you can send it right back for a new one. Even if it's 10 or 20 years from now. And I gotta admit, although I was skeptical about these when they were first requested, they've become one of my favorite Emblem items. A lot of you seem to agree.

Money Clip IT'S BACK! And without a price increase, even after all this time! The Money Clip is made from textured steel and features a medallion cast in nickel alloy and finished in pewter. It ain't fancy, but it will take the punishment of being banged against keys and coins in your pocket without losing its rugged good looks. This is one of the two Emblem items I generally have on me every day the other being a ring).

Static Cling
Decal The Emblem window decal features gold metallic ink and black on a clear 3-inch by 3-inch background. Unlike permanent decals, you can peel this one off and move it elsewhere anytime you like. That makes it perfect for auto rear windows or any other window. This is also one of those items with postage and handling included in the regular price. It's cheaper for you and easier for me. These look a little weird when you first see them 'cuz, until you peel them from the paper, you're looking at the backside and only the gold is visible. Don't let that fool you.

Temporary
Tattoos They're gold and black, about 1 inch in diameter, and show the Emblem as the three-dimensional item it was always intended to be. Made from FDA-certified non-toxic inks, these are vivid, easy to apply and last for days. The picture to the left is the artwork the tattoos were made from. Because of the limitations of the special FDA-certified inks, the actual gold tone is a bit more orangish in the final product, but they look good to me. They come in packs of ten. Now, I don't promise that each package has exactly ten. I only promise that each package will have at least ten. Sometimes I get lazy in my counting and let packages of 11 or even 12 go out. If you don't mind, neither do I. Like the embroidered patch and static cling window decal, postage is included.

Want to keep your gold and silver (or even pewter) Emblem jewelry looking spiffy? Don't want to risk taking the black finish off the iner fields with a paste or liquid polish? This is what I recommend and talk about on the Care & Feeding of Your Emblem Jewlery page. In fact, I use one of these in the final finishing of virtually every piece of Emblem jewelry I sell. The only items I don't use them on are the Contrast Medallion and silver rings, because the silversmith who makes them does the final finishing himself — and he's the one who turned me onto these! One will last you nearly forever. As I said, I've used one on nearly every piece I've sold for about the past 3 years. Yet, I'm on only my second cloth and would still be using the first if I hadn't lost it. Use it on your other jewelry too, including brass, copper, bronze and platinum. Not suitable for 24K gold, though, or amber, coral, emeralds, ivory, jadeite, lapis lazuli, malachite, opals, pearls, or turquoise. While I haven't tested this out myself, I'm told it also does wonderful things for wood, ceramics, plastic and glass — including eyeglasses (but have a separate one to use for that). Yes, it's non-toxic.

Want to be on
an emailing list? As part of the guaranty of privacy that has been central to The Emblem Project from the beginning, I started with a policy to keep no form of mailing list. But after a while, people started asking if they could be notified of new products or general Emblem Project updates by email. So the Emblem Project Email List was born. Mailings go out only when there's news, and I try to make them fun besides. Better yet, email list members get all news first, and some special offers besides. To join, click here and then on "Subscribe." If you're using email filters or privacy controls, please make sure that email from the address "Quagmyr@aol.com" can get through. |
